Anita Sarkeesian (Canadian-American) is an activist in the field of feminist media also a speaker who is Canadian. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency which is a website that features videos and comments discussing the depictions of females in popular media. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American blogger and media critic who has won prizes for her work, is a feminist blogger. Feminist Frequency, a web-based resource to educate women about their roles in pop culture narratives was the result of her research. The site also has the director of operations. Aiming to dispel the myths of women that exist in pop media, she is also working on issues related the harassing women targeted by the media and others online. Sarkeesian has a Master's degree in social and political thinking at York University. As a public speaker, she is well-known and has been a speaker at TEDxWomen XOXO and United Nations Broadband Working Group. As a university student, Sarkeesian became fascinated by the issue of gender identity and women's rights in the early stages. The ambitious lady planned to create a web series that would examine the gender roles in video games. However, she ended up being the victim of an online harassment campaign.
